REMINDER: House Redistricting Meets TOMORROW!

TOMORROW, the House Redistricting Committee will meet to take up redistricting bills which means we have the opportunity to be heard on an issue we did not get to advocate on last session because the committee never convened last session!

Fair Maps Texas is championing legislation that creates an independent citizens redistricting commission because when you go to vote, that vote should matter. Your voice should be heard, not silenced, at the ballot box by politicians who draw themselves safely into their own districts.

This isn't the work of just one party. Politicians on both sides of the aisle have, throughout the years, worked to keep themselves and their party safely in power. But this is why we have to say, "Enough." No more map drawing behind closed doors.
Voters want a seat at the table and our folding chairs are ready to go.

When we draw voting districts that have voters and our communities in mind, not political parties and amassing power, then we're doing right by our fellow Texans and working in service of democracy.
