President's Day Protest
In the wake of the president's Friday national "emergency" declaration, protest demonstrations across the country will be taking place on Monday, February 18th, President's Day. We're encouraging you to attend one and take friends and family.
None of the times emergency powers have been invoked since 1976, the year Congress enacted the National Emergencies Act, involved a president making an end run around lawmakers to spend money on a project they had decided against funding. Trump, by contrast, is challenging the bedrock principle that the legislative branch controls the government’s purse.

If you can't make a demonstration on Monday, please contact your lawmakers in Congress to urge them to support a vote to formally disapprove of the president's national emergency call and to speak out against this blatant power grab to build a racist border wall and to fulfill an ill-conceived campaign promise that nobody wants!
